Graphic Design
Our graphic design success is dependent on good communication with the client. We see this as a major ingredient to the project and will go out of our way to make this work, to that end we like to develop a design brief as part of our creative process which helps us focus on the critical parts of a design project.
The following section outlines how we approach a project as well as some client responsibilities
pinkfish design process - initial brief
Generally the client will provide us with a brief, detailing objectives, marketing demographics, general tone and specifications, obviously not all projects start this way and we will often have some time with the client to discuss the project goals.
This will often include a rough draft of text, after all the purpose of the design is to communicate and good design is built around it's main function, so having content to start with greatly speeds up the design and also stimulates good graphic design.
Any photography or stock image requirements and an indication of amount of support artwork are also discussed at this stage.
An outline for feedback and process deadlines is drawn up.
quote
Along with a written proposal, a competative quote is provided. The proposal will include a recap of discussed details.
development
Initial ideas are designed and put forward for client review.
Modifications are made based on client feedback, then a revised artwork is sent for approval, once approved we create print-ready artwork and send out to print for prepress proofing if required.
